Catcalling has become a questionable practice as of late. More and more women are speaking out against the catcall, saying it makes them feel objectified and even unsafe. Others even go so far as to claim it as proof of an unbalanced power dynamic between the sexes.

I can see where they are coming from on some of it, but at the same time, how are you supposed to meet women if you’re not allowed to approach them as strangers? Back before we sequestered our love lives into the Tinder matrix, that was the only choice we had. Is a street corner all that much different than a bar? Plus, what happens when it goes too far and men get totally shamed out of ever approaching women, and the human race eventually ends? There needs to be a middle ground. We need a way that women can feel safe and empowered, while guys can keep the thrill of that “hunter instinct” alive.

Here’s 20 things you can say to a woman on the street that even the staunchest of feminists can’t get mad about:

1. “Babe, you are so equal to me.”

2. “Damn, you look spiritually/mentally/physically strong.”

3. “If we went on a first date I’d totally be OK with your father being present. Which isn’t my way of saying your father owns you. I’m just saying it might be reassuring to have him there. Not that he has any say or control over your body, of course. I’m just saying he can come.”

4. “There’s so many great women throughout history.”

5. “It’s not, “Behind every great man is a great woman.” They stand next to each other… and it doesn’t matter who’s the president!”

6. “Is it me, or do the first ladies all stand for really good causes?”

8. “I totally wouldn’t be nervous if you drove my car, and I sat in the passenger seat.”

Realizing she’s short a few chocolate doughnuts, a mother decides to investigate the matter by grilling her two children. One fesses up quickly, while the other denies any involvement — despite having chocolate all over her face!

Hopefully nobody ever robs a bank with this girl.

As soon as the camera turns on, Emma rats out her brother, Ben, immediately. “Uh, Ben ate one. I did not.” Ben doesn’t deny it, either. When asked about his alleged involvement in the chocolate doughnut heist, he comes clean, telling his mother, “Yeah, I love it [chocolate doughnuts].”

Things get more complicated when Emma’s mother lets her know she has chocolate on her face. Emma, smooth as smooth can be, touches her chin and casually remarks, “I think that is chocolate.” Finally, in a dazzling display of political spin, Emma comes “clean,” claiming she was the victim of a doughnut attack. She alleges that Ben mushed the chocolate doughnut around her mouth, but she refused to eat it. Ben even fesses up to it as well. He must’ve still been in that untroubled state of post-chocolate-doughnut-consumption bliss that only a child can experience.

Easily the cutest thing anyone will see all day.

Remember this guy?

Old George decided to step up and get in on all the icy fun recently while taking what could be interpreted as a tongue-in-cheek jab at the current commander in chief.

President Obama recently declined multiple ice bucket challenges from heavy hitters such as Ethel Kennedy, LeBron James and Justin Bieber, stating that his contribution will be monetary instead.

George W., however, made the tough decision and went ahead with the challenge.

He was even a bit coy at the beginning of the video, saying, “To you all who have challenged me, I do not think it’s presidential… uh… for me to be splashed with ice water. So I’m simply going to write you a check.”

His color-coded threat meter must have been broken, though, since former first lady Barbara was able to sneak up right behind him and douse him with a bucket full of the cold stuff. Barbara even gets in on the viral fun, stating, “That check is from me. I don’t want to ruin my hairstyle.”

Jesse Fulcher was recently spending some quality time with his wife and son when he decided to carry on the age-old fathering tradition of pretending to steal important parts off a child’s face and then displaying them to the child by showing a piece of the thumb between the fingers.

In this case, however, the poor kid really thinks his nose and ear are gone. Even Fulcher’s wife, through stifled laughter, says, “This is so messed up.” Though I will say that he handled both of the “reattachment procedures” like a champ.

Ah, the ALS ice bucket challenge.

Surely you’ve noticed how your Facebook feed is suddenly nothing but videos of your friends and family awkwardly talking into the camera before dumping a bucket of cold water on their heads. One by one, people are taking a bucket of icy water to the dome so they can get out of having to pay $100 to ALS research.

Not everyone’s enjoying it, though. Some complain that the trend is only spreading because people just want to show how charitable they are or muck around on camera for their friends. But the numbers are in, and apparently it’s working. In less than a month it has raised $15.6 million and wrangled over 300,000 new donors.

However, every great movement has its casualties.

Watch what happens when a gang of — dare I say it — nerds takes the ice bucket challenge. The poor guy tries so hard to lift the bucket of water over his head and just can’t do it. It appears that he lacks the shoulder strength. We should really consider slipping weights into toy light sabers just so these guys can get some kind of workout.

Either donate $10 and take the cold water, or donate $100 and stay dry.

YouTube user cfstonge decided to test the mettle of his South Korean students by giving them all a taste of the super-sour Warhead, and their reactions are absolutely priceless. Most can’t withstand the initial blast of sourness, though a select few hang in there for the full 60 seconds to become “Warhead Heroes.”

Hopefully, their teacher will show them how to deal with the painful mouth sores you get from eating too many Warheads. Hint: drink milk, kids. It’s the only way.

Think your skin is perfect? Think again.

Thomas Leveritt is an award-winning U.S.-born artist based in London who has his hands in multiple forms of media. He’s recently been making waves for a video he created in which he showed random New Yorkers what they looked like under the unforgiving rays of the sun.

Most of the people stepping into the light are horrified to discover that they are much more freckle-faced than they realized, which may be an indication of damage wrought by the sun. People from various races are tested; one woman with darker skin just shrugs like, “Whatever. No freckles here.”

Do be careful, though, as skin cancer affects all races. Yes, it’s more prevalent among whites and Asians, but it does still claim the lives of people of all races. The pigment in darker skin actually tends to hide these growths, making it a little more difficult to detect at first, so everyone needs to slather on some sunscreen.

Plus, according to the video, we’re all the same color when we put on sunscreen. Slate explains the phenomenon, saying, “The camera detects UV from the sun that’s reflected off people’s skin; the point of sunscreen is to absorb that UV so it doesn’t even reach the skin. Since no UV is reflected from sunscreen, it appears black in the video, even though in visible light it looks white.”

Use that sunscreen, people!

No matter where you live, I’m sure you’ve had some kind of negative experience while dealing with a giant corporation over the phone. You’re bounced from robot to robot before being transferred to a guy who can’t understand a word you’re saying, who then puts you on hold for five minutes so you can speak to his manager before being mysteriously “cut off” just so you can call back and repeat the hellish process over again.

But Comcast’s customer service is a different beast.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed directly, I have strong reason to believe that Comcast’s HR specialists are trained to scout their talent by summoning demons directly from the seventh circle of hell. The company was awarded the “Worst Company in America” award in April 2014, which is an annual contest held by The Consumerist, which runs a series of reader polls to determine the least popular company in America.

It was actually the second time Comcast was honored for its lack of social graces; the first occurred in 2010.

A disgruntled Comcast customer, Aaron Spain, went as far as to record himself being on hold with the cable juggernaut for over three hours! Then, to make matters worse, he called from another line, only to find out their call center was closed for the night. Odd, considering I’ve talked to Comcast reps on the phone well after midnight.

Ironically, the young man was calling to cancel his service.

Give it up, Aaron Spain. Comcast owns you. They own all of us. Take that video down before we all get hung for treason.

A group of young kids must of thought they were in a bit of trouble when a squad car stopped in their east Kansas City neighborhood on Sunday. Though this wasn’t the case. Really, the only thing they were guilty of were multiple counts of “parking on the dance floor.” Rookie officer J. Krebs emerged from the vehicle and challenged them all to a dance off.

KSHB 41‘s Cynthia Newsome shines some light on how the thing went down: “It is Sunday morning in East Kansas City and Officer Krebs has been dancing around in the car all morning, so his partner, Senior Officer Smith, saw some teens dancing and she offered the teens some Jolly Ranchers to have a dance off with Officer Krebs.”

Putting everything they know about free candy and stranger danger on hold, the kids accepted the challenge and agreed to Officer Smith’s terms.

Obviously not the winner, Krebs still had good things to say about the impromptu dance competition, “When I joined the police force I told them I wanted to build rapport with the community because I feel like if we build rapport with them then they are more likely to call us when they need us.”

This isn’t the first time Kansas City’s finest were recognized for their positive interactions in the community. Earlier this year a few officers were caught on camera playing basketball with a few of the kids.

One Florida Publix grocery-store employee is getting all kinds of Internet love today.

According to a picture that’s now gone viral, the employee, later identified as Gage, was doing some work in the beverage aisle when he noticed an elderly man having trouble bending to tie his shoe. Without hesitation, Gage took a knee and tied both of the man’s shoes. A simple but very powerful gesture of kindness toward the Ormond Beach customer.

A nearby shopper, Keith Kiel, was so moved that he took a picture and posted it to the Publix Facebook page. Kiel went on to describe the event saying:

I shopped at Publix tonight and saw this random act of kindness. I took it quickly and I found out the employee’s name from his manager. An old man could not reach down to tie his shoe so not only did Gage tie the one but he did the other as well; all with a smile. I thought he should be recognized for his actions. Here is the picture I snapped on my iPhone.”

The photo quickly blew up gaining nearly 200,000 likes.

People were extremely pleased and proud of the young man, but apparently this is nothing out of the ordinary for Publix. Many other shoppers commented and shared stories similar to this one. Crystal R., a young mother, shared her experience with the employees at Publix:

I once went to Publix carrying my newborn who screamed every time I put him in his infant carrier in the cart…one of the stock boys saw I was having trouble, so he pushed a cart with me around the store and put everything I needed into it. Then the manager opened up a lane just for me, bagged my groceries himself, walked me to my car, loaded my groceries into it, and then he even asked for my keys, turned my car on, opened my door, and held it open for me. It was amazing, I was stunned at their hospitality. Thumbs up for Publix!”

A few people even took the opportunity to bash Walmart, one saying, “Can you see someone at Walmart doing this???? Um NO….they rarely even know what isle the milk is on. I LOVE PUBLIX!”

All Walmart bashing aside, it’s awesome when stuff like this goes around since it glorifies kind and gentle behavior and lets people know that these simple small acts of kindness can always matter to someone in a huge way.
