Watch This Video To Avoid Being A Dumb Tourist And Falling For The Paris Ring Scam
This video warns people visiting foreign countries (particularly Paris) how to avoid getting scammed out of their hard-earned cash. Considering the exchange rate between the U.S. dollar and the Euro, Americans better heed this message.
InTouchMedia purposely caught a “dumb tourist” on video, which revealed a scamming attempt that follows the “spirit” of the BBC television series, “The Real Hustle,” according to this video’s creator. In the clip, you’ll see a woman trying to sell him a “gold” ring, apparently a common practice across Roma communities by the river Seine in Paris. Typically, scammers bend down in front of tourists as if they just discovered this abandoned, precious ring on the ground.
The video creator posed as a tourist documenting the scenery so that he could continue to film the interaction without the scammer thinking twice about the presence of his video camera. According to him, such scammers will repeat this action all day long to make a day’s living.
