Reddit user Bombingofdresden shared an album of pictures showing her nine-year-old boxer, Dempsey, curiously welcoming a tiny, 3-week-old gray kitten. The two adorable friends are seen sitting next to each, staring into each other’s eyes, and just enjoying each other’s company in general.

Dempsey’s owner says that this type of gentle behavior isn’t unusual for their sweet-tempered boxer.

He has the greatest demeanor you could hope for in a dog,” Dempsey’s owner tells other Reddit users in the comments section.

He regulates on the cats in the house. Sometimes they don’t get along and he’s always so concerned that he’ll run over and break it up.”
