Many public schools have “Valentine’s Day Parties” on this special day where students exchange store-bought Valentines and overpriced “fun-sized” packages of candy. In line with the ethos of modern education and child-rearing (every participant gets a prize, everyone gets a valentine, etc.), nobody gets left out. Mostly gone are the handwritten love letters. Or letters expressing “like” and not “love,” like this forlorn note, discarded and left on the floor of an elementary school for Reddit user mikegimik‘s wife to find.

“P.S. it’s not my best riting.” Maybe your second-grade grammar level is why your fourth grade beau ditched you for the big kickball game at recess. Always a bridesmaid.
