Mascots Taunt Mr. Met On Twitter By Implying Inappropriate Behavior With Mrs. Met
The New York Mets mascot, Mr. Met, recently got a Twitter account of his own. The same day Mr. Met joined the social media platform, he began to take heat from his fellow mascots.
Before the taunting began, Mr. Met had to follow up his first tweet with an apology for his gloved fingers delivering an illegible message introducing himself to the twitosphere.
Sorry everyone, my fingers are too big. What I meant was “I’m on Twitter!” pic.twitter.com/4ZI84Oiw77

From there, other MLB mascots immediately began taking shots at Mr. Met’s wife, who is without an account of her own. Sluggerrr, the mascot of the Kansas City Royals, posted a picture of he and Mrs. Met asking why she hadn’t called him back. Mr. Met responded in stride, pun and all.
Hey @MrMet welcome to Twitter! BTW, can you ask Mrs. Met why she won't call me back? pic.twitter.com/MnKEbagKLQ

Other baseball mascots were quick to join in on the bashing of Mr. Met.
. @Sluggerrr so you're the one Mrs. Met told me about. #stalker @MrMet pic.twitter.com/d1eoAz2OEu

Fortunately, the Cleveland Indians mascot, Slider, jumped in with a friendlier photo and warmer welcoming.
My All-Star friends!! @MrMet, Welcome to Twitter!! Hey, are you coming to my #SliderBirthday on Aug. 3rd? #tribetown pic.twitter.com/R9T9knIqlE

Rather than get himself embroiled in full-fledged tweet war, Mr. Met ignored his fellow mascot’s posts and went back to addressing his fans like a true team ambassador would.
Which do you prefer while watching a #Mets game #Peanuts or #CrackerJacks? pic.twitter.com/4Ts5OUTtgu
