4-Year-Old Brings 249 Bags Of Heroin To Day Care, Passes Them Out To Classmates Thinking They Were Candy
A four-year-old girl in Selbyville, Del., recently brought 249 bags of heroin to day care in a backpack and passed them out to her classmates, thinking they were candy.
The girl reportedly took the backpack without knowing what was inside; her mother, 30-year-old Ashley Tull, gave her the backpack after her other bag was ruined by a family pet, according to Delaware Online. Upon arriving at daycare, she discovered the bags of heroin and began handing them out to other children.
When Hickory Tree Child Care Center employees noticed some of the kids holding small bags, they immediately called 911. Testing confirmed that the substance was heroin. The bags contained a total of 3.735 grams of the drug. Several children were taken to local hospitals, but only as a precaution—luckily, all of the bags remained unopened.
Tull has been arrested; she faces charges of maintaining a drug property and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
