The Money Gun Wants To Make You Look Awesome
Anyone who’s ever dreamed of firing money into the air like I assume Donald Trump does on a daily basis can now have those dreams fulfilled! That is, if the Kickstarter campaign for the Money Gun has its way.
Similar to the classic T-shirt launcher, the Money Gun is a smaller, slightly more refined piece of equipment that does just what it promises: it fires money like a gun fires bullets (except not in a lethal way). Launched by New Orleans entrepreneur Michael Schexnayder, the Money Gun is marketed as a customizable product that people can use for some extra fun during a night on the town or as a marketing tool.
You can use it to attract people to your booth at a convention, use it to promote the start of a race or use it to add an amazing element to a party,” says the Money Gun’s Kickstarter page.
Schexnayder got the idea for the Money Gun a long time ago, according to its website, but didn’t have the chance to make his vision a reality until 3-D printing was invented. He began with a prototype made from a modified toy gun, then hired a professional product designer to create CAD drawings and, eventually, a 3-D printed prototype.
The Money Gun campaign is, alas, over on October 3, but it still has quite a way to go toward its $50,000 goal. (Apparently injection molding and manufacturing are pretty expensive.) If it does meet this goal, though, consumers will no longer have to perform the tedious task of making it rain with their hands—they’ll have a shiny Money Gun to help them spread those dollar bills around.
