No, it’s not burnt. Taking the idea of chargrilled to an extreme level, Burger King will soon launch its Kuro Burger — “kuro” means “black” in Japanese — at its restaurants in the Land of the Rising Sun.

On sale for a limited time beginning Sept. 19, the Kuru Burger, which looks like something pulled out of the garbage, is as dark as the coal used in some of its ingredients. Yes, the gothic-looking burger consists of buns made from bamboo charcoal, black-pepper seasoned beef patties, a special onion and garlic-flavored sauce made from squid ink and even a slice of black cheese-colored with coal and very reminiscent of melted tar.

According to Kotaku.com, Japanese Burger Kings will offer the Kuro Burger in two varieties: the Kuro Pearl and the Kuro Diamond, which will include all the fixings.
