Strangers Join Forces To Save A Man Stuck Under A Train In Australia (Video)
According to ABC Australia, an impressive and refreshing display of “people power” was used to free a man who got his leg trapped between the platform and a train at a Perth station.
The man was boarding the train Wednesday at about 8:50 am when he fell and dangerously lodged his leg in the gap. The driver was alerted not to move until they figured out what to do.
Bystanders and passengers along with some of the Stirling station staff banded together to tilt the train car so the man could free his leg.
Transperth spokesman David Hynes, was quoted on the incident saying, “He stood in the doorway and as he was sort of taking up his position there, one leg slipped outside the door, slipped outside the gap, and he was stuck. Then our staff who were there at the time got the passengers, and there were lots of them, off the train, and organized them to sort of rock, tilt the train backwards away from the platform so they were able to get him out and rescue him.”
Everyone sort of pitched in,” he said.
An ambulance arrived on the scene but the man was not taken to hospital. It’s believed he did not sustain any serious injuries.
It’s really awesome to see the amazing things people can do when they work together!
